George’s Memorial Concert

What an amazing night to remember such a special young man!

Friday 5th April was the Memorial Concert for George Stephenson, a young man very close to the heart of La La for many reasons.  He sadly passed away at the age of 24, and his friends and family wanted to remember him at the same time as raising money for a sports pavilion at his old school, and CLIC Sargent, the charity for children and young people with cancer which supported George and his family throughout his illness.

The night was sandwiched between two La La sets, and people from all walks of George’s life also celebrated and remembered alongside us – friends, family, and school.  There was a lot of emotion, tears and laughter, with moving tributes, both spoken and musical; collection buckets were prominent with a total of £10,000 hoped for.

The final count up has been completed, and the total is ….

…. da da daaaaaa ….

£12,575 (of which £1787.08 is for CLIC Sargent)!!

That is AMAZING and thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to such a fabulous, heartfelt evening, and such a wonderful amount of money raised.

If you would still like to make a donation, the Just Giving page for George’s Pavilion can be found by clicking here.

Here are a couple of memories from the concert:
