Tuesday 3rd November at Southernhay United Reformed Church, saw our two stand out entries perform for the prize of performing at Exeter Cathedral on 5th December as part of our CLIC for Christmas concert.
We are delighted to announce The Park Community School as winners of our Devon County Choir Competition. Matt Street, Head of Music at Park School, brought along his choir and some young instrumentalists to perform ‘White Winter Hymnal’ and ‘Happy’ with a special twist.
Runners up, Exmouth Community College gave a brilliant performance and were only just pipped at the post. Em Bish, Musical Director of SING, ECC’s group of choirs, had her guys sing a fabulous version on ‘Uptown Funk’ and a superb ‘Mash Up’.
It is hard to pick a winner when two such superb choirs come up with the goods but a decision had to be made. Park School had the edge and we are over the moon that we will be performing with them in the Cathedral in only FOUR WEEKS!!
