Gigs of the week – 4
Wow! What an amazing weekend we have just had!
We started on Friday 13th (lucky for some!) with Light up Lymebourne where we sang for the residents of Lymebourne Park. A lovely warm and friendly atmosphere and plenty of Christmas spirit!
This was a good warm up for the big event of our season, and the highlight of our year, our 5th annual CLIC for Christmas concert at Exeter Cathedral. We once again sang to a sold out Cathedral audience – we included some old faithfuls and some new songs this year, including a very moving version of Everybody Hurts by REM.
Our guests were Exmouth Community College senior choir, Cantare, and the always amazing CLIC Sargent Singers. Both guest acts were phenomenal and there were several comments of ‘goosebumps’ or ‘best year ever’.
There are plenty of photos from the night in our gallery HERE and if you were not able to come, or were there and didn’t get chance to donate, we have a JustGiving page where you can make donation online at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/c4c2019.
Sunday was also a busy day for us with two more Christmas gigs. We started in the morning at Re:Fuel, an event held monthly which is the new home in the Southwest for anything with wheels to come and chill out at the weekends. Lots more carols and Christmas songs, …. and cars!
This was then followed in the afternoon by a visit to Lucerne House in Alphington. Our seventh year visiting this care centre that has a special place in our hearts as several friends/family members of La La have been cared for there. It brings so much joy to the residents and means a lot to us as well.
This coming week is the last week of choir before our Christmas break, and we only have one more performance coming up, before we hang up our jingle bells for another year. Our annual Christmas social will be at The Imperial in Exeter and we will sing our entire Christmas repertoire (and more besides!). Join us for a final festive blast!
