CLIC for Christmas – an amazing night!

Here at La La Choirs, Devon’s largest non-audition adult choir, we are still buzzing from Friday night’s CLIC for Christmas concert at Exeter Cathedral.  The cathedral was packed, another sell-out, along with hundreds of the La La family, who were joined by the CLIC Sargent Singers and Mount Kelly School Chamber Choir (our Devon Schools Choir Competition winners) for a fabulous evening of singing and celebration.

La La host this annual concert to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity which supports young people with cancer, and their families, from diagnosis onwards.  This support includes specialist social workers, and accommodation for families to enable them to stay close to their loved one when they are having treatment, and is invaluable to the young person with cancer and their family.

Sam Abrahams, founder and owner of La La Choirs, said :

This is the fourth year of running the CLIC for Christmas concerts and it was the biggest and best yet. The fabulous choir from Mount Kelly were a perfect fit for the night and so talented. It was an absolute pleasure to have them singing alongside us.

The CLIC Sargent Singers were particularly good this year too and helped us to show the audience what the reality of living with cancer as a young person is like. They also, however, showed that through music, friendship and love and with the support of CLIC Sargent, the devastation of cancer can be overcome.

I would personally like to thank each and every person who helped in any way to organise the night, bought a ticket to come along, or has donated, from the bottom of my heart. Being able to help the children and young people I meet through working with CLIC Sargent means the world to me. We had a record breaking collection on the night and once all costs have been taken into account and final tallies have been made, we look like heading for an all time record total. Final details will be revealed shortly, so keep watching this space!

I am the luckiest and proudest woman in the world to have such an amazing La La Family

Have a look at one of the videos from the night – this is “I’ll be There” with the very talented Charlotte Abrahams on solo.
