BBC Radio Devon Competition Winner sings our praise
After winning La La Gala concert tickets on Judy Spiers BBC Radio Devon show, Hilary Mabon felt compelled to get in touch. This is what she wrote;
Thank you so very much for the tickets from BBCRadio Devon for the La La Gala concert on Saturday last. We had the most wonderful evening, with fantastic singing from the La La Choirs, Military Wives Choirs, Adam Issac, Lucy Bray, the University Boy Band and the Lympstone Brass Band.
On arriving at our Box, we were each given a Goody Bag, with jam, cake, cards, draw tickets, etc etc; great fun to unpack and enjoy.
During the evening, the whole place was reduced to tears, when the Military Wives came on stage and the husband of one of the Ladies returned, unexpectedly from serving in Afghanistan.
Sam Abrahams, who is the Muscial Director, worked extremely hard to bring us an evening none of us will forget in a hurry; What energy this young lady has. She is a huge asset to the musical scene.
Unfortunately, as the concert ran over an hour late, we did not get to meet the Military Wives Choir; it took us half an hour to get to the lift and by then, both my husband, George, and I were so tired and everyone was making their way home as it was around 11.30 p.m. Some of the choir were from North Devon and several had to make long journeys home.
Once again, thank you so much; only wish you could have been there to enjoy the Concert with us.
