Oh what a night! CLIC for Christmas at Exeter Cathedral

Amazing! That’s the only way to describe it. Saturdays concert was a triumph.

Joined by The Park Community School choir, Sim Pattinson, With Nell and I and the peoples Soprano, Rebecca Newman, La La gave everyone a night to remember.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s number one Cancer charity for children and young people. Last year they supported 132 families in Devon alone. La La Choirs have fundraised for them on a smaller scale, across the years and this year we decided we’d make it a larger than life event.

Exact figures aren’t yet completed but we can confirm that our minimum target has been achieved.

It costs CLIC Sargent £4000 to support a family through their entire treatment which is generally three years. We know we have helped them to support two more families in the future. Yes, we have raised over £8000!!!!!

We couldn’t have done it without your support. The concert was a sell out with extra seats with restricted views, that we hadn’t planned to sell, filled on the night. Such was the demand to enjoy an evening of song with us all.

The guest acts donated their time and gave us performances that will stay with us and the audience for a long time.

We heard stories from young people previously supported by CLIC Sargent. We were also lucky enough to give a family currently being helped, front row seats to not only enjoy the evening but to know how much people care.

An audio recording and a film will shortly be put on the website. Photos, taken by the talented photographer Chris Horrill, are already available and can be found through the link below.

There is a link to our Just Giving page on Chris’s site but alsooo below. The photographs are free but should you like to give a donation for them we would very much appreciate being able to add to the fundraising total. Recommended donation per photo is £1.

Thank you to everyone who helped in the preparation and on the night. Volunteers, ladies from Santander’s Exeter branch, guest acts and you, our amazing supporters and audience. We had a wonderful time and were swamped with compliments on the night and since. What a great way to help families in their darkest days. Thank you so very much.
