La La Choirs are delighted to be performing at the George Stephenson Memorial concert at St Andrews Church in Plymouth on 5th April.  This concert, in memory of lovely George, as well as to raise funds for the George Stephenson cricket pavilion and CLIC Sargent, is our first of the year, and it's a big one.   To find out more about George, the concert, and to purchase tickets, please click on this link:   George Stephenson Memorial Concert   You can also buy tickets at reception at Plymouth College, and at St Andrews Church itself, but don't hesitate - there aren't many left!...

Devon Schools Choir Competition launched

La La is Devon's largest non-audition adult choir, but every year we include a school choir in our CLIC for Christmas concert at Exeter Cathedral.   We have just launched our annual Devon Schools Choir Competition, by contacting all the schools in Devon to tell them about this amazing opportunity:  register now to enter, then send an MP3 of your school choir, and the choir could win the chance to sing at Exeter Cathedral - they could be filling the space at the front of the stage in the picture above!  This year, we are also doing a Christmas concert at Plymouth Guildhall, so there are two chances to sing at amazing venues with us at the end of this year.   You can't enter on behalf of the school unless you are the music teacher or choir leader, so if you know any children aged 11-18 who would love to sing in Exeter Cathedral...

La La’s Red Box

We love singing at La La (Devon's largest non-audition adult choir), but we are also big believers in supporting charities.   The Red Box Project is a community-based, not-for-profit initiative, which aims to support young people throughout their periods by providing red boxes filled with free period products to local schools.   As part of our Be Kind project, La La have recently provided a red box at all choir sessions, where members can donate sanitary products, tights and pants, and we have received lovely email from the charity about how thanks to the efforts of La La members, they are now able to provide a new service to a new area.  Woohoo!  This is what our Be Kind project is all about - making a real difference to people in our local community.  There will be a box available at every choir session for donations.   If you would like to know more about the Red Box Project,...

Love Week at La La

Devon's largest non-audition adult choir, La La Choirs, has a strong philosophy of love and kindness.  This week includes the 14th of February, which most of us traditionally associate with love, and we invite you to join us for a celebration of Love and Kindness.   We want you to be a RAKtivist - someone who performs Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) - throughout this week, so you can look back on Random Acts of Kindness Day (17th February) and celebrate a week of kindness.  The concept is simple - do something lovely for someone who isn't expecting it - you could do a friend's washing up, weed your neighbour's garden, pay for the coffee of the next person in the queue … the choice is yours.  Here's the website for more information and ideas:   Random Acts of Kindness   Of course, La La believe in love and kindness all year round, this is just...
